Hello OLF, I have finished my first guitar. It's a serviced LMI kit. It took over a year! Of course, most of that time was spent staring at woods parts wonder how to put it together. It is true that there are hundreds of ways to build a guitar, but eventually, you do have to pick one.

Thanks to all here on this forum for the abundant assitanst that you supplied. It seems whenever I was having a problem and needed help, someone would post (and answer) the very question I had been thinking about (synchronicity?).

Things I learned:
1. Never use your hand for a vise, clamp, hammer, or wedge!
2. Read all instructions/directions very carefully. When that's done, read all instructions/directions very carefully.
3. The Mayes and O'Brien videos are worth every penny.

It has a hundred custom made errors, but to me, that makes it that much more beautiful. It sounds and plays great.

Thanks, Tony

From what I can see Tony, it looks like it came together great. I really like the shape of your headstock. Compliments the shape of the body nicely.

So what's the next one going to be??

Excellent Tony! Nice work on the headstock design too.
Congrads on the first and I'll let you in on a little secret,
most likely it won't be your last. :D [:Y:]

Thanks for the encouragement. I have a great deal of respect for all the work you guys do (and a bit of envy).

Darrin, I'm going to build a Stew Mac 000 kit next before venturing into a scratch build. The parts are sitting on my bench (or should I say "plywood sheet held up by 2x4s") now.

Thx again, Tony

Tony, congratulations! I love the way you phrased something. "Custom made errors".

Looks great [:Y:] I can't wait to get my first finished; I'm down to frets, finish, bridge, nut and saddle.

Congratulations Tony,

It's a great feeling of accomplishment to to build something that provides so much fun and entertainment! Sounds like you learned a lot also. You missed one on your list. Never use your finger or hand as a chisel stopper. That one took me a lot of years and I have the scars to prove it.

Cheerio,
Danny
