When do you cut the piece off your side for a florentine cutaway? Do you bend the whole side first, and then cut the smaller piece off and bend the cutaway piece or... cut the side at the location for the cutaway before bending the larger part of the side, so that you have a flat smaller piece to bend for the cutaway? Does that make sense? ;)

I cut the piece off first, and then bend the two separately ... no point in having to reverse a bend - if you bend the whole side first, then cut and back bend to match grain.

I cut it off and then bend the two pieces separately.
