Hello everyone. I am a player but new to building. I may have made a mistake with an old cheap guitar I was trying to clean. I was using 0000 steel wool and murphy's oil soap to clean fretboard and for some reason thought I would clean the body with this. I think i may have rubbed some finish off body and pickguard. It is a Mahogony body Synsonics guitar. Is there an easy fix?

Todd, thanks for replying. I feel stupid because I knew better! But you are right, the water didn't soak in, so there must be some finish left. Any ideas would be appreciated. I have been reading up on guitar and maintenance as well as books by Bob Dresner and other finishers. But just wasn't sure about guitar finishes. Thanks again.
