that was a 1 way rod. I have them if you are looking. The only 2 way that martin used was the black one.

Todd, does the new Martin 2 way truss rod have an aluminum channel? Also, are you getting them from Martin?

Thanks
Chuck

The one way rod is correct but not the 2 way that LMI is showing. I have the actually martin rods. Martin truss rods are very similar but they are different.

I have purchased the Martin style two way truss rods from LMI, Stewart-McDonald, and Grizzly. Grizzly and LMI state that these truss rods are made by Gotoh. Although stewmac doesn't say who makes the ones they sell, I suspect that they are made by Gotoh as well.

I can get both rods. They are a stock item. The old style truss rod may be discontinued by Martin but I have found thier supplier and I can still get the 14 fret style

Todd,

Agreed, the new style Martin two way truss rod is a nice one, available directly from Martin. I responded with the information I did because the question was where can the old style two way rod in the aluminum channel be obtained. I've used several of these and haven't had a problem with any of them. That said, I recently started using the rods from Allied Lutherie.

Interesting stuff. Todd/John, are you still able to rout a 1/4" slot for the new Martin rod and squeeze it in or do you have to go bigger?
