Maybe I should get a Pat. on it along with some other jigs. Yeah, just machine a set of jaws for a small drill vise like the one they use for making nuts and saddles would work. I have some of the angle left if anyone want's to get a set of Bean Press L's I could put it together for $20, What the heck I'm laid off and have the time. If interested PM me.
I added a comment to the video about being careful when pressing on the ebony beans as they can split if over pressed after all they are wood.

Slick! I like the vise jig. Have you made a little spacer block to fit around the shaft to insure all are pressed on an even distance from the machine?

No but not a bad idea and I guess I could also just make a spacer that would keep the jaws from closing instead of slotting a spacer for around the bean shaft. That might get wedged in place and be a pain to remove if the CA sets. Right now I just watch and press until the flat on the shaft disappears. Close enough. I have found that there is a few thousands difference in the way they are pressed on from the factory. Some of the tuners are harder to press over the L's and can be a tight fit. I might hit the faces of the L's a tad on the sander or a couple of swipes with a file to thin them a few thousands.
What about that clothes pin holding vise? Sweet ain't it?

This is what I made to hold replacement knobs for cutting slots in the round holes. The vise clamps it down on the knob. I could probably make it work on the drill press. I love the clothespin clamp. I'll probably make one. Luthiers are a very clever bunch!

I think I'm going to start selling the clothes ping part of the clothes ping holding vise on ebay as the Universal Luthier Holding Clamp with instructions to modify as necessary to your luthier needs.
