Not like the good old days back in November/December when the discount was 30%, but beats nothin'!

Right. But there are folks watching it everyday. They say it jumped from 8 to 12 just recently.

Hey Mike,

idunno Please pardon my ignorance but could you educate me or direct me to the source to
understand what MS Cashback is?

Of course Bill!

But we have to start out with the understanding that nobody quite understands it. not even me who bought several thusands of dollars of power tools and recieved 25% back on each one!

Go to live.com (MS search engine). Create a "cash back account"

Search for , say, grizzly bandsaw. If it comes up with ebay cash back icon, go there.

Anything you buy while searching the ebay site will be discounted 12%. When I did it, it was 25%, then fell to nothing. Now it is 12% and may go up from there (but I doubt i). Those days may be over. Be sure to read the TOS at live.com with regards to ebay.

Awesome! Thanks Mike [:Y:]

I only wish I had known about this when I bought my 17" Grizzly Ultimate Bandsaw a year ago

But I know about it now thanks to you and I'll be keeping an eye peeled for a 21" Drill Press (replacing the 15")
and a 48" Oscillating Belt Sander (to replace the 24") This ought to be able to help the budget just a smidge maybe.
bliss

I waited on this one last year and the day I was going to place the order it went away. Actually I think I was going to do it when it was 35% and then it wend down t 25% and I waited for it to go back up. Honestly I can't remember which item it was that I was going to pull the trigger on, so it is probably best that I didn't do it (probably the ultimate band saw).

But one thing to think about is this doesn't have to be for large tool purchases. It can be used for anything with the Buy It Now option and paid for through PayPal. So if you need some Ibex finger planes, a bending iron, nut files, parrot vise....

I also heard if you call Grizzly and ask them to put an item in their eBay store so you can get the discount, they will.

If I remember you had to do the search from the main windows live search to find the eBay stuff. Once you have things working you will see a Microsoft Cash Back Coin on the eBay pages where it can be used. The key to all of this is that somehow Microsoft is paying people to start using the Live search engine.

Howdy John,

Yep, most of the items mentioned I've already got. Been growing my shop over the past
10 years to pretty much a fully supplied unit. Now there are a few nice to haves in the way
of upgrades for a smoother work flow (mostly larger equipment). Anything I can do to save
a buck, leaves that much more for tonewoods :D

Great idea about calling Grizzly because over the years I've had good experiences dealing with them.
They really pride themselves on customer service and satisfaction in my experience with them. And
they go the extra mile for anyone interested or involved in lutherie since the big boss is an amateur luthier.
I've used their equipment for years and love it. It has always worked out just right for my purpose and at
the right price.

When I was about to pull the trigger for a Grizzly bandsaw, they put it on the ebay site for me. I did not buy it, but that was real nice of them.

The trick is to first create your Cash Back account at live.com. Tie it your paypal address.

Then search for ANYTHING that will pop up the ebay logo and cashback logo. The percentage does not vary (AFAICT), so click on what ever it is. Then, make sure the logo shows at the top of the page. Now search for anything that you want. It applies to everything. You have 90 minutes. Then you have to start over.

Some days, a search you did before will no longer work. You just gotta keep at it. They got wise after a bunch of us used it like crazy!

Without paypal, I would not try this. Too darned complicated. And unlikely to work well at all.

Remember, regardless of the percentage, there is a max of $200 per item cashback.

I just searched grizzly bandsaw and its now up to 14%! I am glad I am not you! When to buy, oh when? Once it starts going down, it keeps going. My guess is they are hunting for the percentage that sparks sales.

Good luck,

Mike

Edit: Holy carp! Grizzly is offering free shipping too!
