I'm not in the habit of posting every little thing that I do on my builds, but I thought that you might be interested in where I'm at with these projects.

Awhile back I had posted an inquiry into the tops for the Torres SE117 guitar. There is a lot of info about the larger, concert size, guitars, but not much about these little ones. So. I'm kind of poking around in the dark on this. I did use an open lower harmonic bar on the SE117s. The Panormo I had to draw up plans for from bits and pieces of info where ever I could find it.

There are five guitars in the works, two SE117s for my daughters, Ash bodies with Red Cedar tops, Selmer style heads with machine tuning machines; one SE117 for me, Bird's Eye Maple body and white cedar top, Torres head for pegs; one Panormo copy with Ash body and WRC top; and my first Telecaster.

I am fully aware that Torres didn't use Ash or Cedar, neither did Panormo. These are "in the spirit of" guitars, not exact copies. Maybe one day I'll have the information and the inclination to do a more rigorous copy, but for now, that's not where my head is at.

Presently, I'm at the binding stage. I have to fit this in during my work day, so it is moving along, but everything takes so much longer when you have to repeat it so many times.

Let us know how it goes with the peg head guitar. I don't do classicals but I would like a small nylon string with peg head tuners, built to just float in your hands.

Looks great! I like your use of Native woods on the builds.Ash is one of my favorites for tone.They should sound as good as they look.

A heard of Tele's! That's pretty ambitious Doug. I guess if you're going to build 1 you might as wall build..... 9. Look forward to seeing some photos when finished.

Also look forward to seeing photos of the bound SE117 when finished. It's looking great. Very solidly built guitar.

BTW, I grew up on the corner of WPG closest to you. Greenwich Bay. Bet we know some of the same people.

David, these SE117s really are charming guitars. I'll make sure that the final results are posted. You should try one!

Mark, I'm really liking the Ash so far. This wood also has sentimental value as it came from a tree in my in-laws yard. I harvested it a few years back, and it means even more to my my family as my mother-in-law passed away last year.

Danny, that's just in Windsor Park! I drive past their regularly. I've got friends in Powell river, too. Know any Barons?
