Here's a recent instrument from our shop that we hope gets us back in the good graces of our British contingent.
It is owner-supplied Brazilian rosewood back/sides.
Bearclaw Sitka top.
Rosette and bindings of quilted Sapele.
Neck is mahog/maple/mahog, w/ Bra. rosewood veneers astride the maple.
Purflings are brazilian/maple/Makore/maple/Brazilian.
Fretboard, bridge and peghead overlay are Brazilian.
FWI saddle, pins and nut.
Gold Waverly tuners.

wow.... beautiful! at the first glance of your first picture, i thought that your headstock looked a bit bulky, massive... but when I looked at the closeup shot, I realized I was wrong hehe It is really good looking! It's nice to see something original up there, and you did just that

Seriously Steve you know full well what I think of your guitars, this is a truly beautiful example of the guitar builders art. I like the well thought out colour pallete with everything looking as though it was meant to be. I love the pale stripe in the neck echoing the sap wood in the back, and the binding colour match with the neck wood. It's that sort of detail that make your guitars special.

OK, you are back in good grace.

Lemme acknowledge some suppliers:
The Brazilian came from Allied, when they carried the stuff.
The headplate came from Steve over at Colonial.
The rosette piece came from Uncle Bob.
Now if we could only get Brent Cole to join up.... He supplied that Bearclaw top.
The rosewood fretboard and bridge came from the same slice of wood,
and that came from my brother John.
It's a lot of fun sourcing all this material, isn't it?

Many thanks for the kind words.
Randolph, I have a hard time describing sound, but I will say this--it sounds like an OM. Specifically one with a Sitka top.
Also, there's a bit of *boom* to it, as the owner wanted a deep body. Don't know if that's readily noticable from the pics, but the sides are c. 1/2"+ deeper than standard for an OM.
It has a dark sound, which I've found consistent w/ Brazilian rosewood.

Steve, you need to get up here some time. Bring Matt with you.

Actually, "Cor Blimey!" is derrived from the middle-aged expression "God, Blind Me!", used when someone saw something they shouldnt have. Once commonly used in expressions by upper-class English, etc, when in shock, suprised etc. mainly as a form of really stupid exaggeration
e.g.
Cor Blimey! that young scalliwag yonder stole a fag end willy!
