I'm making Selmer style guitars and want to produce my own veneers (1mm+) for side and back laminates. At this thickness, it's a horrible waste to buy Indian Rosewood in guitar-ready sets, only to remove 75% of the material in the drum sander. Regular veneers are too thin. Any leads appreciated. Thanks, Peter

Maybe check with LMI (www.lmii.com). I think they carry Indian RW veneers just for this or at least they used to.

Best of luck.

Their veneers are the same thickness as everybody elses which are .6mm ... You can buy that thickness veneer anywhere. I want veneers sawn to 1.5mm (1/16")... Anybody?

I don't know where you are located, but almost any hardwood lumber store that sells tropicals sell boards in 4/4 or 8/4. You will just have to go, look over the stock, find what you like and buy it.

As hard as it is to believe, not all EIR is processed into sides and backs for luthiers. If you don't have a good lumber store nearby that sells tropical woods, you may have to order online. I wouldn't be comfortable ordering stock sight unseen, but just google "indian rosewood lumber" and you will see some suppliers.
