Is the boiled better then the unboiled from the art supply stores? Have you any thoughts on Tru oil?

Lindseed or Flax oil is a short oil. Heating the oil causes it to polymerize and oxidize, effectively making it thicker and shortening its drying time. Most products labeled as boiled linseed oil are a combination of raw linseed oil, petroleum-based solvent and metallic dryers. The use of metallic dryers makes boiled linseed oil inedible. Heat treated linseed oil without the solvent and metalic dryers is very much thicker and dries very slowly. This grade of linseed oil is usually labeled as "polymerized" or "stand" oil, though some types may still be labeled as "boiled".

Cold pressed pure linseed oil has a much slower drying time. So the advantage to boiled is the drying time

What cought my eye is this (see modified picture attached). Do you laminate multiple thin peaces of wood together for the neck?

No that is the natural graining in the mahogany.
