I just received an email from John Watkins at CNC Guitar Parts http://www.cncguitarparts.com about the huge blow-out sale that they are having!!!! Needless to say and in the grand tradition of GPAS (guitar parts acquisition syndrome..... :D ) I jumped on it and placed my order! :D

You will find many, many new offerings as well as necks, bridges, tools, jigs, John Mayes DVD's, and much more.

Check it out and get some great stuff at excellent prices!!!!

Thanks! :)

Hesh, I noticed your bridge design (the "Stealth") is being offered. How cool is that?

Thanks Steve - it's very cool and I am very excited as well. A couple of years ago after I started showing pics of my stinkin guitars with my Stealth bridge both John and I started to receive requests from other builders to use the design.

With John's help we decided that John would make the bridges available to anyone who wants them and I also decided to make it available royalty free to me. So I am not involved in the sale of the bridges and I don't profit in any way. The only thing that I asked was that John refer to it on his site as my Stealth bridge.

It was one way to start to pay it forward for all the help that I have received with my own guitar building. And as you know if someone is building a guitar there are not many bridge choices available off-the-shelf beyond Martin's.

I just grabbed a sweet Mad. Rose fretboard blank!

If anyone wants to try their hand at an electric, you can grab a Les Paul Jr. neck and body for $130 total!

This is a great opportunity for any noobs.

Grab your self a down graded blemished John Watkins neck at a bargain price and use it as a guide or visual template for your own work. You will have access to measurements and the 'feel' of a well made neck from every angles as set out by one of the very, very best in the game. This quick reference will help smooth your path along what I consider to be one of the more difficult areas of building your own guitar.

Later, when you have your own build done and dusted, you can either keep the CNCguitarparts neck for future reference, or repair any minor blemish and fit it to your next build. Either way I bet you will be back as John Watkins work is not only first class, but he leaves enough wood for a builder to express their own style and flair but at the same time removes a lot of time consuming work and intimidation.

While your at his site, also have a look at the fret radius inserts and pressing caul, these are without doubt the best quality available and offer very good value for the moe. [:Y:]

Cheers

Kim

Those faux bound fret boards look interesting. I've never seen those before. Gosh 65 bucks for a classical neck with minor blemish. Unfortunately the few customers I have would cringe at the thought of CNC gaah

Congrats Hesh !! really cool bridge !!

For anyone who has not bought from John Watkins at CNC guitarparts, be sure to check him out, he has some great service ! Here is an example !

I wanted to get 2 Faux-bound fretboards, price "was" set to 38$ so this + shipping was a bit high, considered all I was getting from all I was getting it from ! :D So I bought 1 board, NOW, this was last friday, so on tuesday I see John has lowered his prices to 25$ for the same board. well I was a bit sad I hadn´t waited , so I wrote John a mail and gave him a friendly blink, that I was sorry I didnt wait over the weekend to get my board(s), he wrote me back and said the following

"If you would like to order a second board, I will only charge you the difference as if you had bought them both on sale. I will absorb the shipping cost to ....... Fair?"

NOW this is what I call service, I paid 12 $ and recieved an extra board, and didn´t have to pay shipping either. So next time I sure know where to go !!! .Thanks John ! .

Lars.
