Sorry!

I have a couple of good quality vernier calipers that I've had for decades (got them when I was in trade school), and they have both metric and inch measurements on the upper and lower part of the scale. Most vernier calipers that I have seen are like that, so if you can read a vernier scale instead of a dial your shouldn't have much problems finding one.

Working on it now, but seriously mine is a digital machinists dial gauge on the home made piece of wood.

Lee Valley has all kinds of calipers .... reasonably priced as well.

I buy this kind of stuff on Ebay; usually used Starrett, Mitutoyo, or Brown & Sharpe. Often you can find those brands new or barely used. I can't see getting off-brand stuff for precision tools. Look for a dealer with good feedback and a tool with no sign of any abuse. And return privileges.

I find verniers easy to read. Some people don't.
