Yepie!!!! bliss bliss bliss bliss bliss bliss Yepie!!!

OK boys and girls. The time is soon to be here.

I just heard from Jay Hostetler this morning. Now Six day and counting till StewMac will roll out The OLF-SJ, OM and MJ on the their web site the first of November and they will be in the new catalog to be published January 1st.

Once again there are many added details on the new plan sets like a fully detailed bolt-on neck and neck block as well as cutaway details.

One more time lets give a hand to our friends at Stewart MacDonald for giving the forum this great exposure opportunity. [clap] [clap] [clap]

Lance if you don't mind make this a sticky topic for a while please

Several years ago I donated plans set to the forum for resell of my Orchestra Model, Small Jumbo and more recently My Medium Jumbo. These plans made up the core of the OLF Library of Plans. Due to issues with printers and the time it was requiring of Lance and Brock the OLF Library of Plans was closed. Fortunately though Stewart MacDonald showed an interest in my plans. Now i had an issue with a commercial entity profiting off my plans if I was not being paid for my intellectual rights. That said It was still important to me that the Forum was supported by the profits from these plans. So I, The Forum and Stewart MacDonald devised a program that pays the majority of income to the forum, Stewmac makes their needed margin and I make a smaller percentage.

History of my plans: Many of the members here when they speak of building an SJ or more explicitly a OLF-SJ or OLF OM are speaking of building from plan set I have donated. The SJ has been by far the ex-Library of plans most successful plan set for several years. Now with the OLF library of Plans out of business you can now get the plans through Stewmac. And still support the forum with your purchase.

Is the OLF SJ similar to a Gibson small jumbo ala 165?

Pardon my ignorance. I should have gone to Michael's website before posting. I found all sorts of info there. No need to answer my previous question. I'll likely pick up a set of SJ plans with a future Stewmac order. Always wanted to build one of those. I usually have LMII bend rims for me, but I guess I'd have to figure out how to bend if I want to build an OLF SJ.

Nice to have access to some plans! Congrats Michael!

Ken

Check with OLF Sponsor Blues Creek Guitars. I believe John has bending molds for the OLFSJ.
And he would probably bend your set for you as well.

Anyone got any pointers?

Michael, what are the dimensions of the SJ vs the MJ. I'm gonna get one of those and one of the OM, I just don't know between the MJ or the SJ which one I want.

Thanks guys, but I have to confess that the original iterations of each of drawing were drawn for my personal business long before they became OLF plans. I donated them to the OLF as thank you for all the forum had done for me over the years. So no need for a pat on my back (though greatly appreciated). If one or more of you build and good guitar that makes you or a client happy, that is all the reward I need to hear. Enjoy them guys and gals.
