I might be worried about putting that info out there in public. Perhaps a PM would be better.

Mitch, you specifically looking for fold-up chairs? I've got a half dozen or so of those collapsible canvas camping chairs, if that will do.

That'll do great Jim...

Chris, the concern is well noted - but this house is protected - by Marley, Smith and Wesson [:Y:]

...and the neighbors... eek

The point is taken though especially with a bunch of sneaky, narrow-eyed, swarthy types on this forum...like Billy and Hesh... pfft

Mitch,
Thanks for mentioning coffee and donuts. I already volunteered but forgot. Trust me. I'm on it. Really.

I have a couple of chairs. I'll go ahead and put them in my trunk so I don't forget. I was going to bring along some Nettles Sausage for the cookout.

I suppose this is a good time to ask if anyone has any special dietary needs? Like Rolaids?

Seriously let me know if there are any special needs in a PM...

I finally got around to signing up to the foum. I talked to Jim Bonnell a couple of times and I saw him up at Magfest. I am planning to drive up sat. morning as soon as I drag myself out of bed. My band will be playing a late night gig in Hyde Park Tampa. I am looking forward to meeting everyone and learning some clever building stuff. I am excited about this new forum, thanks to those who did all the planning to get it going. My big Dog house Bass will be in the truck from fridays gig so I could provide some bass tones to any picking that might break out. I have done some guitar building classes in my shop and and I have found that if you mix in a few beers it always leads to a jam session. See you all sat.....Ken Bailey

The Short Call ended today so I'm back in for tomorrow unless I get hit with another 24 hour bug like Thursday.

Ditto on all that. Thanks to Mitch and his wife [and Marley] for opening up their house to us. I feel I learned a lot today and really enjoyed meeting everyone. Thanks to one and all.

bliss

It was a hootin good time. We got to see Jim Bonnell demo a pretty cool binding machine. We talked about shop safety a bunch. Saw some of Chris Paulick's jigs (the force is strong with him) laughing6-hehe . Mitch demo'd his scraper prowess. Everyone's guitars, in all stages of builds, were very cool to look at and play. We traded thoughts and ideas...no hand holding though. Ken Bailey pulled out a banjo that looked like it was straight out of a Star Wars movie.

I wanna do it again....but with more swap meet stuff!

Chris

Too bad about the weather though...

I had an awesome time and my wife Tracy, and my Mom and Dad who showed up to help out with the chow, all were amazed by the group that was here. "What a great bunch of guys" was the comment from my dad...

Just the discussion on bracing and voicing was worth the price of admission alone - then the router jig demo and all the great information shared and exchanged...

here's some more pics...

Hey how come except for Marley and the two Chris's that you guys are all old guys? :D

Thanks for the excellent pictures! [:Y:] [clap] [clap] [clap] [clap] [clap] It looks like a great time was had by all and the food looks pretty good from here too.

That burst is just outstanding and exactly the kind and color of burst that I really like. Dave's L-OO looks killer too.

Who owns the bench on wheels? This is exactly what I am looking to build for my shop - wanna PM me please so I can shamelessly beg for info? :D

We just look old in the pictures. Average age is about 27. Must be and old camera.
I've already been getting ideas for next meeting. How about everyone bringing unusual tools or objects they find very useful in their building. Perhaps overlooked every day things or things used in other professions we may not know about.
