Hello again!

I am working on #2. I decided to add an inlay to the headstock. I bought a nice simple inlay that is multiple pieces. It came glued to a piece of cardboard. I assume I need to cut around the inlay leaving the cardboard on it to hold it together. (yes?) But I also think it is face up on the cardboard (its symetrical..so it probably doesn't matter). How would you guys suggest I go forward with the inlay. I have done fingerboard inlays that were all one piece, so I have the basic process down...but I am not sure what to do with this one.

Thanks for any help!

Joe

Will the inlay seperate? I don't think they are glued together.

So the plan would be to trim the inlay on the cardboard to use as a template. Route my cavity. Soak the inlay to loosen the cardboard. Then either add glue and then place in the inlay...or lay the inlay in the correct spot and add CA....yes?

Joe, follow this from Andy DePaul and you won't go wrong.
