Hello all. I'll be finishing my first jatoba top shortly, and wondering if anyone has any tips apart from the usual. Thanks.

You can finish Jatobá as you woould any other wood. My question though is why are you using it for a top wood? Is this a solid body?

It just cracks me up! Such a great site! Till last week, I had not even heard of Jatoba. I posted a few questions last week about Jatoba (found a source) and now I have seen at least two new Jatoba posts. Looks like a sweet wood! But, it is a bit dense for a top, no? But it might make an excellent Uke top, bottom, and side material.

Brazillian Cherry, right?

Mike

I bet it would make a fine Uke material too. (top, side and bottoms)
