So as not to sound like I am promoting myself, since I won the first ever Zootman Free Zoot Contest...... I WON!

Let me promote one of our sponZOOTsers (sic):

Bob Cefalu, Thanks for the really great B&S set of Hondo RoseWood!:

I would have gotten it sooner, but Ike got in the way of my getting some other great stuff form Bob and family. The box arrived Thursday and this is the first opportunity I have had to post a pic.

Keep up the great work Bob.

Thanks again,

Beautiful zoot from Uncle Bob at RC Tonewoods Steve my friend! [:Y:] [clap] [clap] [clap] [clap]

Wait until you hear the great guitar that you are going to build with it. My friend Don and I think that HRW is one of the best tonewoods available today. I used it twice and plan on using it again.

Yes, indeed I agree 100% with Hesh on this one. Honduran can ring every bit as good as any wood I've come across. I was just tapping some the other day that rang like glass. It might be better than any other wood in my stash...Brazilian included. I sure am glad I put a few sets of that stuff away for myself......like, a dozen or so. It's only bad rap is that it can have a lot of little tiny knots and blems and things. But when it's clear of that stuff, it can be pretty nice. Some that I've seen can be less pretty than others though, depending on the sub-species. I have some drop-dead gorgeous stuff, and some that is kind of blotchy looking. I actually sold the nicest of what I had, which is somewhat regrettable, but then again it helped pay for the cnc.

Thanks everyone! Hesh, I have SO much shop envy seeing your shop come together..... Mine is still "in the raw" or just studs.... I hope to get it closed in this winter and start to practice all this head knowledge I have gotten from my friends on the OLF. bliss

I trust that with all your help I can do justice to that wonderful set. My wife asked me a couple of months ago if there was another guitar in a box of stuff I got from another sponser.... I said "yes, dear there are several! Just in parts though!" laughing6-hehe

I think I will have to go cold turkey on getting anymore zoot untill I build some instruments. But, then again, where will all the fun go?

Mr. Don "used to have" great woods.... he's pretty much empty now.
Now I get wood from Mr. Bob.
