I'm getting ready to glue the top on my latest build and was wondering what kind of glue do some of you like to use for this step?

Thanks, Steve H.

personally ive only used titebond. it has a long open time, which is great when you are just getting the hang of things.

I've used titebond and hide glue (Hot hide glue) and I'll be using fish glue on the next and successive guitars.

I'm a Titebond guy also. I'm going to order the LMI glue and try it on my next build.

Have used HHG, but now use Fish.

I've used all 3 Titebonds,Lmii,and Fish !

I keep all of them in my shop for different jobs!

If you fit your top dry and there are no problems any of these glues work great!

Pick one you like to work with and go for it!

I just finished bracing up two tops using Fish glue and feel pretty confident with it. It's not fast setting but
it's not an area where you want to rush things anyway. I've used both HHG and Fish glue and find them quite similar
in terms of hardness when set, perhaps a slight edge going to HHG. But for jobs when you are working alone and time
is important, fish glue seems to fill the bill for me. I will continue to use HHG for the bridge, just because I've always
used it and feel comfortable and can make it work in a one-person situation, probably the same for the neck joint but
I really like fish glue for other purposes.
