Well here is my 1st "from scratch" build.

Ebony Fingerboard, Maple Top, Ash Back, 5 piece laminated maple neck through body design.

As for the sound, I am very happy with the results so far. I used Bartolini J pickups with the Bartolini Treble/Bass active circuit. I had the option to hook the circuit up with 18v (2- 9v batteries) which gives more headroom. This is the first time I have used the 18v setup but it shows promise. Later this week I am going to use the bass in a live setting which will really give me a better idea of the sound.
