No. none of my work will ever be available in DWG or DXF format except under contract. Selling DWG or DXF files with out control as to whom would put my labor and design up for direct plagiarism.

If some one wants/needs to have files created for CNC work they can contract me to provide files needed for CNC and sign a NDA (NON-DISCLOSURE AGREEMENT). Or like you did, the builder can spend the time reverse engineering to their own cad files based on the dimensions on the drawings. But I am not going to put my cad files out there to be sold copied and traded with out control as to who is getting the cad files.

On each of these plans there is more than drafting time involved I have prototype expenditures that went in to each of these before they ever came to the OLF. So if someone had a dwg file and changed title block and file name and sold that file to someone else as if they did the design work.

Everyone that is involved in a craft like this one that uses CNC would love to have cad files available and if there was a way to assuredly protect my intellectual intrest I would have no problem. But with selling cad files without control of to whom always comes the risk of easy plagiarism.

All that said most of you know that I have been more than willing to provide DXFs of body shapes to aid in creating forms at no charge for the asking. Offering a DXF of the body shape is not an issue and all you have to do is ask. Offering a DXF or DWG of the plan set is.

I understand completely. Thanks for all the effort you have put to this for all of us. Your plans are the best I have seen and I'm glad to see you are being rewarded for that effort.
Thanks

This is really exciting, congrats Lance, Brock, and Michael for making this a reality. Also, a big hand to Stew-Mac for making this available to all.

I know there may be no way to know this, but is it possible they will have the plans available website prior to the catalog availability?

Secondarily, I don't see how people asking questions when they're directed here from StewMac is going to be problematic. My first considerations of making a guitar were because I'd seen an ad for StewMac in a magazine. If someone is serious enough about it to purchase plans and seek out help, why would their questions be any less appropriate than anyone else's? I undertand that some of the comments were in jest, but there obviously is a note of concern. Do you genuinely see this as a problem, or was I just missing the joke?

All I know for sure at this point is StewMac has told us that late this week or first of next week they intend to issue their first order. I suspect that both the catalog and web site publish dates are or are near the same.

This was NOT directed at your work I hope you know, I didn't know you were involved directly. I apologize if any inference was implied!!!!

Seriously, I've heard nothing but good things about your work! I'm waiting for these prints to come out too! Congratulations are in order, your in the big time!! [clap]

Any plans to draw a Jumbo?
