No I'm not bragging...weird as it may seem, I made a mistake. In cutting out the pockets for the braces of the back to tuck into, I cut them too deep and now the braces do not contact the lining.

As I see it, I have a few options. I could scab some brace material onto the end of the brace, or I could scab a bit of lining material onto the area of my boo boo, or I could cut out that portion of bracing material and put a new piece in its place and then carve a new pocket and try to avoid being a dweeb. To me, the last option seems the best/cleanest looking option, although the most time consuming. What are your opinions?

You know, I've been demonstrating a lot more patience with this process than I used to believe I had. After each mistake that I've made, I've tried to just think of it as an opportunity to refine some repair skills.

In your post you said bracing but I think you mean lining. That's what I would do, cut out the offending seciton of lining and put new pieces of lining in there than recut the pocket in the new lining.

Thank you for your response. You are correct, I did mean to say lining. It's amazing how you can proof-read and still miss something like that. At any rate...I think that's what I will do. It seems like the best option.

It's a good thing I'm taking notes of all my mistakes so that I can keep track of all the skills I need to improve upon. I may need a bigger notebook though.
