I've been looking around and haven't found anything about what parts of a bolt-on mortise and tenon neck joint should be glued. I gather the part to glue is just the fret board extension. I am intending to use hot hide glue. I imagine it would be best to just glue under the edges, but that's just a guess to make a future neck reset a bit easier. Do I glue else where, like where the heel contacts the body (after finishing). Thank you!

Only glue the extension, that's the point of a bolt on neck. A bead of glue just around the edges is sufficient. You don't even need to clean out the finish under the whole tongue, just a channel where the bead will land.

Thanks, meddling fool! I was thinking that was the likely solution.

Just like Meddling does it, a little glue around the perimeter of the extension.
