Hi

This was my fist top that I prepared, glued and set the sound hole inlay.

I planed it a bit and then ran it though the drum sander a few times, its now about 2.80mm to 3.00mm. I will probably have to smooth off the the drum sander grit marks as it was 80 grit. My question is , is it too thin already or will I be OK ?

I guess the final thickness will be about 2.5mm

Well, it's hard to say due to all the usual caveats, but I suspect you'll be just fine, unless you're a real heavy strummer.

The color on my computer monitor is not very accurate and it's hard to tell what top wood that is. Looks like it could be either Sitka or cedar. The answer to your question may depend at least somewhat on what wood you're using.

Looks like OM-ish size? My guess is you'll be fine.

I can say this- if you make it that thin, make the X angle very wide, carve it too short, scallop the legs just below the bridge, use a bridge shape with fairly pointy wings that don't get a great deal of overlap with the X, and set the neck angle a little too high resulting in the strings being ~9/16" above the soundboard at the bridge... then it will probably dip a little too much around the soundhole

I say you are more than fine. I usually make my spruce tops thinner than this, and even on Dreadnoughts.

My advice is go forward and don't worry about a thing.

I agree... It will be fine...
I wouldn't worry about gyrations of trying to re-design your bracing scheme.... just make sure that all the braces that are supposed to butt together do... Don't leave any gaps that aren't in the original design...
