Just curious how others who use them construct/notch lattice braces. Do you cut them by hand or use a jig? Pics would be great.
Thanks

Richard

I use a table saw and make the braces the same width as the kerf. That simplifies things a lot.

This is my jig. I made a 10 degree angle block for my fretboard slotting jig. I use a dado blade I cut a slot in the angle block then moved it to the right the amount I wanted the spacing to be on the lattice and put in a piece of square metal. In my case it is 1/4 inch. Then I fixed the angle block to the sled. To cut braces you just put a board on the angle block adjust the depth to one half the thickness of your stock. You make one cut, then slide the stock to the right so the slot sits on the metal alignment. Then make another cut and so on until you have made enough slots. Then I cut the baces off the board with a band saw or a model maker table saw with a jewelers blade. Usually you can rip them close to the correct thickness or you could run them through the sander.
