I am going to inlay the top and back of an O with abalone, should I get some curved strips, or use straight and break them to fit the curve?

If using real shell, I find it best to use a mix of straight and curved .. about 70-30 or so straight/curved. The straight ones work bertter on the lower bout and around the neck joint area, the typical curved ones ahve too much radius as they are usually made for a rosette.

on my first ever I used only straight paua strips ... and on a florentine cutaway as well.

Oh .. and use the teflon filler strip ....

Have you used this? This stuff has some type of elastic in it right. How does this stuff scrap and sand. What minimum radius can this stuff be bent to? Wanted to give it a try but was wondering about this....Mike
