Ok, after much research, what I have learned it this. If u use the large pressurized cup, there are two sizes of liners. Medium and large. None of the "normal" liners and caps are compatible. However, the Large cup is compatible with large and medium, but they are the large and medium for THAT cup.

The 16124 pressurized cup is compatible with 16000 (medium) lids and liners, and 16024 (large). The lids for these are different than non pressurized cups.

If you look close, none of the liner cups have grippers. That is the difference. The grippers are built into the baseline retaining cap of the pressurized cup.

That's it.

We use the mini H/O cup with appropriate liners, so no experience with the larger pressure cup. Thanks for sharing your findings with us on cup compatibility...sounds like there are essentially two superficially similar but non-interchangeable PPS systems for pressure and non-pressure feed guns.

Yes. Liners appear interchangeable, but not the lids. At least the medium and large ones. I just got the H/O cup in. It has its on "grabbers" on the retainer ring. On the non-H/O, the grabbers are on the lids. I can't think of one dam good reason for this other than for marketing pros to separate users from their money.

My new liners and caps arrived. Caps have two catch prongs as on non H/O. Guessing additional prongs on H/O retainer ring are insurance against added pressure. Guess I'm saying there is no difference (in the liners), but caps are different. Still looks to me this will work with medium liners.

Mike-I'm on my 3rd Fuji spray system now. I tend to buy a new one every 3-4 years for no particular reason. Before that I used several other name brand HVLP's. While there may be slight differences in set up, they all work great right out of the box. The gun is certainly a big part of the spray experience, but experience itself is a bigger factor. Don't get too caught up in worrying about having the perfect set up. Get some spray experience with what you have. Good luck.

I've sprayed quite a bit. PPS is for (for me) to minimize clean up, maintain material in cup over long spray period, and be able to spray upside down

I use the PPS system and I really like it. Saves me a ton of time and I can keep materials in the cups for days or even weeks. Worth every penny in my opinion. I'm using an HVLP gun not a turbine.

Man has this Fuji system been amazing. However, 2 times I forgot the implications of a pressureized cup. Lesson one, depressurize before removing PPS cup to refill. Dam it. Lesson two. See lesson one before removing spray head for cleaning. Dam it.

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.
