I have a technical question. I did email Kent about it, but was wondering how some of you addressed it. After I install bindings, I fill all exposed bevel block areas (top & side) with thin spruce. Then sand (shape). This works great for the top, but I think its causing me trouble on the side. Once you have shaped, could you describe the binding shape on the side?

If I understand your question correctly, I use wood that matches the binding. I should not ever see any of it but when finish sanding the top it is possible to expose a thin line of the fill wood.

The issue, as I have seen it, is the blending into the side binding component so as to minimize any edge exposure. It's hard to do given the angle on the side. Constraining factors are the size you must sand down the binding for effective bending along side bevel. It's all about achieving a great blend at that edge. And, very hard to do when dealing with figured woods. I'm convinced of one thing. Getting this part right is the money part. I'm not convinced I've seen the best description of how to do it. But I am getting close.

Side note: when ur working with materials costing north of $1k, u don't want to screw up, and u don't get many do overs. I think a clear understanding of this one point is what I'm searching for. I've succeeded in about 8 bevels, but they were black veneers. Easy to fix issues with dust and glue. Not so with figure. I will say I love the Everett Bevel. Just looking for ways to improve mating with side binding.

I think I've finally got it figured out. Thanks
