Although we were in the shop this weekend, we did have some representation down at the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society Convention. Mr. Jeff Bernstein, an OLF member and former student in this shop brought his #3 (built in Mr. John Greven's Portland shop), a Stauffer-style folding neck travel guitar, and our most recent delivery - a curly mahogany and Lutz small jumbo - went down to the show with its owner, Mr. Hank Alinger.

Not sure who the gentleman with the red shirt and beard is in the photos, but he was apparently very taken with both guitars, so I can hope that my minor roll in the SJ - the neck finish - was a contributing factor to the favorable reviews.

Anyone else make the trip and might have shots of more of the guitars there?

It's Guitar Father Time. ... nice to see that life doesn't get in the way for everyone. Are we going to see some up close photos of that SJ? Nice work, Woodie ...

Goodness - as in Gruhn's Guide? Thank you so much for letting me know - had no idea! I am certain that if I mention it to the boss, I'll get that look that says 'Duh...who did you think it was?' I really don't care for that

As usual, the guitar went out before I had any opportunity to take decent photos (supposedly, one of my many 'jobs' here), but will be back in this weekend for some adjustments (it went out barely an hour after string-up due to the trip to Nashville). In the meantime, here's a link to the short video that was done the night it was picked up...Mr. Alinger does a pretty decent rendition of 'Blue Moon', don't you think, even with the tinny little iPhone microphone?

On the 'to-do' list is another video, but shot with the Nikon and the H-6n system that - it would appear - only I know how to use.

Nice! Thanks. Beautifully played rendition. It would be nice to hear that recorded with the H6-n which looks very cool. I have an H4-n and am always amazed by it. I'd also like to get my hands on the Q8.

I too, was stuck in the shop. I wish I'd been there to protect my guitar from the cigarette burns it came back with. I have no idea who this old fart might be. He seemed to love my guitar, but still!

But wait...if that is one of your instruments, and the photo from Mr. Kovacik's site is circa late 19th or early 20th c., that would make you at least 125 years of age! Could you share your diet and exercise regimen with us?
