Don,
It looks great! I like everything about it, including the great finish.

I have really enjoyed my test projects with the Royal Lac. It has prompted me to take a maple L-00 build off the shelf, that has been laying there for a couple of years. I just couldn't bring myself to spray the nitro. I changed my focus to old restorations that required little finish work. The Royal Lac has me fired up again.

Where did you get the top. It is exactly the look that I like in a red spruce top. Clear, with wide grain, and no pink streaks.

James

Truly spectacular!

Thanks for your encouraging words towards Cablepuller. As a new builder I've made a bunch of mistakes.

Again, congratulations on your new baby.

Thanks everyone...

James Burkett, this was a Carl Barney top. I bought it from him several years back when he brought a bunch to an NEL meeting. This was actually marked down because of the wider grain with the tighter grain on one edge. I love the wider grain so I grabbed it as the price was very right.

The Royal Lac has had the same affect on me. It is such an easy and yet beautiful finish that it seems to take some of the loathing of the process away.

Tony, the lessons learned from this project have really deepened my sense of confidence in knowing that in spite of many obstacles, one can overcome and come out the other side better off. I will always be a novice in my own eyes, but I take great joy in learning and improving.

And it helps having a CNC...

What a beautiful guitar!! Truly impressive. I am gearing up to build my first guitar and it's an OM as well. I can only hope that my guitar turns out as great as yours did!! Thank you for the inspiration!!
