Haans,
It's a few build coats of shellac, then nitro lacquer for the rest.

It's beautiful!

Such a pity that the ziricote is destined to crack at some point though!

Sharp!

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

I think you could be deaf and still fall in love with that instrument. Beautiful.

Hey everyone,
I wanted to share my latest build that went out the door today. This is a pretty straight forward 000 12-Fret that I call my "Antebellum" model.

Top: Bearclaw Spruce (Alaska Specialty Woods)
B&S: Ziricote (eBay)
Fingerboard & Bridge: Ziricote

The Inlay on the back of the neck is done in Quilted Maple, the Fleur De Lis on the bridge is hand cut from Koa, and the little stick figure near the end jack is the owners company logo that is hand cut from MOP. This was my first bound sound hole, which I did in plain maple.

Thanks for looking!

Fantastic looking guitar...you should be very pleased with your self..is it rude to ask how how much one of these makes

This one went out the door for just over $4,500. I'm starting to get a wait on my commissions, so I'm hoping to raise my rates late this year if orders keep coming in. Fingers crossed!

Wow, Chris! Amazing and stunning! Your finish is really enviable, too. I don't think you charged enough for that one though!!

That was #16, hence the price. I still have too much to learn to charge any more haha. I appreciate the comments on my finish. I used to paint planes in the Airforce, so spraying lacquer on guitars has always been second nature for me.

I love the inlay of maple on the neck. That is classic.
