Sometimes to get an end jack to fit you have to countersink a thick tailblock especially on an archtop where the pickup jack also passes through the tailpiece plate.

I have been using a 3/4" reverse spot facer with a 5/16" shaft (theyardstore.com). If you have already enlarged the hole to 1/2" it's tough to center the shaft.

I found that a 5/16" drill guide bushing (http://woodworker.com/18x38x12-drill-bu ... 21-862.asp) fits a 1/2" hole and centers the shaft of the spot facer.

It would be easier to drill the endpin hole and countersink when at 1/4" but I always forget to do that.

Not to be nitpicky, but a reverse spotfacer counterbores a hole , it doesn't countersink ...

Still can't get that third picture to show. My old Kay is a huge guitar but pretty quiet also. Lay it off to the F holes
