Mike Jennings. Lopez Island, WA . Trapped on this lovely rock with Bruce of Notable Woods about 8 miles north and Bruce Harvey on the next island over [Orcas]… so great opportunities for hand selecting woods, which seems strange for such an out of the way place.

I've been here from day #1 that Lance fired this up. But took an all-too-long hiatus.
I've been building professionally since 2000.
I'm a Leo and like long walks on the beaches, candlelight dinners, er, oops! wrong forum.

Howdy!

I'm an amateur Luthier from the southeastern corner of Kansas. I've been building everything I could get a set of plans for, and am working on my knowledge base and skills to tackle guitars - preferably classical, but I may try my hand at steel string also.
My latest project is mountain dulcimers: I've taken the information from my collection of guitar-building books and have made a body/side mold and set of cauls.

Just discovered this forum a couple of days ago. I know a few of the folks belong to other forums with them. Nice to meet y'all I live in Manchester Tn about 60 miles SE of Nashville

Still building jigs for my adventure into my first guitar build. Been at this for over a year just finding time to do the jigs and play some guitar, work etc has been a challenge that I am not making the progress that I had hoped for. However, I will get it all done if it takes me another year or two.

Hey Blain, I live near 1431 and Sam Bass.
I am an electric builder. I'd love to try an acoustic, but I cannot control humidity. It's bad enough building solid bodies. Do you control your shop environment, or are there good times of the year to build?
Thanks,
Dan
