Don't worry about the binding when gluing the fretboard to the neck blank. You will have plenty of wood to wood glue surface. Just get a good glue joint binding to side of fretboard. As usual, test glue joints on scrap first.
Goodin, thanks. Acetone works great for attaching abs binding to wood.It's been done since the beginning on electric guitars, and I prefer it. I don't anticipate any problems in that regard. Check it out.
And thanks for the advice on the edges of the fretboard/binding joint. I've had several people give the same advice. Makes me feel good about that.
