Tai do you have a dedicated humidity controlled room where you can regulate the temp/humidity?. I/ve stopped building for the next 6 weeks humidity at 30 %. Tai you might check Michael Thames youtube video on FP . Lots of excellent info /advice.Just used it to do my first succesful FP.on WRC sample board.

I have that room, but I reserve it for gluing braces only (I leave pieces in there prior to bracing). I cannot afford to humidity control the entire shop... aside from the fact I can't get a good seal, the electricity cost is way too prohibitive. Everything molds up here, even molds themselves get moldy.

Since you have already put on sealer coats of shellac, it is too late for Zpoxy.

So are back and sides generally pore filled with zpoxy (or your filler of choice), and then the sound board is sealed with shellac prior to finish?

I seal the whole thing with shellac, after wet sanding the zpoxy with soapy water, twice, to get the waxy blush off. Use a very fine grit and be careful not to sand through. Alternatively, you can sand off the zpoxy except for what's in the pores, then seal.

Hey kevin have you tried all the many different ways to pore fill on a scrap board?? water base filler, drywall filler , oil based pigment filler , 2part epoxy thinned with alcohol. shellac/pumice Keep trying till you find one that works for you.
