Bob at St. Lutherie used to sell faux bound boards that were the cat's pjs. Couldn't believe my luck to get them sourced here above the 49th.
But . . . he's not producing at the moment.

He pointed me to Andy Birko, who delivered quality very quickly. Ain't Canadian. But it ain't bad.
