If you're buying large amounts, try Michael Gurian, and it's pretty quick delivery

If anyone has experience with any of the Asian suppliers, I'd like to hear about it.

I assume there are some good ones & some not so good?

One thing I find frustrating about bridge pins is a variation in size of the pin diameter. That means that pins have to be fitted to individual holes. Stew-mac pins are quite good in terms of size.

Tom,

Know exactly what you mean. I end up marking the pins per string. A real pain

I've bought inexpensive bone pins from various Asian eBay sellers, but the quality has invariably been rather disappointing. There probably are some good ones out there, but unless you are sure of the quality before ordering, this can become an expensive but futile experiment. I now order large quantities from Gurian, made to my specs, and they are excellent. The price isn't bad either (even with the shipping here), and best of all, no worries about the quality, consistency of geometry etc.

I will echo the group here.. Stew Mac or LMI.... You get pins that are consistent and that will fit into holes properly....

I bought some Grizzly pins and some from Evil-bay.... Inconsistent diameters meant you had to fit each pin exactly to it's hole.... Some pins were *really* small.... Etc...

Decided it was just too much trouble.. Went back to SM and LMI...

Thanks

You've never seen, Don? I have beaver teeth!

I spent about 4 months working through getting stuff made with some guys overseas. Language barrier was a bit challenging, finally ironed out the end product.

Filippo

I would love to see a tutorial, Filippo?

Filippo, I love my pins from you, but wondering if you will make them in unbleached bone?
