One of mine just came in for a LR Baggs Lyric mic install. It's a nice light under bridge plate stick on job. Double sided tape. I will give the areas for the mic, battery bag and volume wheel a cleaning with naptha. Would you be inclined to size the applicable areas with watered down glue or shellac?

It's nice to have this one back. I never had the chance for photos and it is one of my best efforts.

Thanks,
Danny

Well post up a photo then! :-)
I recently installed a Lyric and like you, gave the glue area a good scrub with naptha, but did not use ant sizing.
The double-sided tape seemed to stick really well...

No sizing necessary.

Clean the oils off with naptha or something and the tape will stick extremely well.

Press firmly from both sides of the soundboard at the same time so that you don't crack the top yet are able to firmly fix the microphone in place.

Same thing with the soundhole control if applicable, although you need to be more careful with the delicate soundhole edge.

I've done a few of these, same advice as already given. Mainly I just wanted to say I like your avatar photo with Oscar. When were you in Ottawa?

Thanks guys! That was pretty simple and it sounds great through a Fishmann Loud Box. Nice not to have to fool around with saddles.

Robbie - I'll post a couple of shots. It's Redwood/Maple with an alcohol type burst. Purdy.

Pat - That was a couple summers ago. Oscar and I were photo bombing my 2 lovely daughters. :) What a great city to visit. We had loads of fun. Glad to get a little back for what I've helped pay for all these years. [:Y:]

Cheers,
Danny
