I agree with Doug. The shape makes me think of Salma Hayek! :D

Ted, you've done real justice to the Kostal influence - the design works beautifully.

Hi Doug -- the shape is a modification of my previous design (which I called a "Modern OM") -- I raised and narrowed the waist and gave the lower bout a bit of an outward flare leading to the apex. This new design took me about a year to nail down. I had it on the wall of my shop and would periodically make changes to it. The last change was the lower bout and when I did that I knew I had nailed what I was trying to achieve.

Cool. Would you mind sharing a few measurements... width of waist, bouts, length, soundhole placement, etc?. Again, I really like what you have done and they say that imitation is the highest form of flattery. :)

Hi Chris - that's a beautiful set of Wenge - tight grain all the way across. I haven't built a Wenge guitar yet but I know from that taptone that it is very musical. I'm sure this is one very fine sounding guitar.

Thanks Simon. The biggest downside to the perfectly quartered wenge (other than the thousands of splinters) is that it can be prone to splitting. This really comes into play when routing for binding. I ended up taking LOTS of small passes going about .010 deeper with each pass.

I love the way the guitar sounds. Very lush. Great overtones.
