Well I strung up and set up my first last night.

It is a Mayan Walnut/Yellow Cedar Concert sort of size. The finish is not so good, there are alot of obvious mistakes, the box is a little wonky cuz I didn't you a mold, and now that it's together, the neck could have been a little thinner near the nut.

But it sounds amazing. And that's before break in.

I have a friend who comes to town once a year and we record some new songs. He arrives tomorrow, so we will have to see how this guy records. Will try and post some sounds and maybe pictures next week.

Thanks to you guys who gave me some points on bracing. I'm sure that has a lot to do with the nice sound.

Neil

Way to go! What a great feeling of accomplishment I'm sure. You will forever be partial to your first guitar. What's next?

Ah yes... the sweet moment of stringing up a new instrument for the first time... Always a bit nerve wracking, but it's my favorite part of it all...

That's the spirit! This means there is going to be a second, a third, and so on and so on... [:Y:]

If it sounds good, it means you've got the chops! So congrats!

Congratulations!

A word of advice: you are under absolutely no obligation to tell people about the guitar's flaws. You'd be amazed at what they won't notice.
