I have been French polishing for about a week. Through a typical learning curve, I'm starting to see how this may end up looking quite nice. I see how repeated leveling/sanding cycles that the pesky few unfilled pores are starting to fill. I am wondering if there is a way to spot fill these "pin holes", or do I need to soldier on with more padding and leveling to get to the bottom of the holes. Thx!

I would flatten the finish with a drop of baby oil/pumice and then buff out hard with straight alcohol inside the pad to clear the oil/pumice an start buffing if your at that final stage.??

use a lot of pressure on your pad when using the alcohol only ,if it starts smearing add a touch of 1lb shellac inside the pad to remove the swirl marks. You will know when it/s done .It is one of those judgment calls.You just stop when you feel that there is enough FP on the wood . PS I/ve been using shellac for 30 yrs . But I luv the FP look.
