OK...so I stole an old Gene Autry song title.....everyone here who remembers good old Gene and the Melody Ranchers, raise your hands.

Anyway,

As of April, 2007, I will be back in the shop on a full time basis. The past medical issues are now history and I have full clearance to return to what I love...building guitars.

The first order of business will be to complete the back orders I have from very patient customers who stood firm during my hiatus.

I will begin to entertain new orders and I will be at this summer's Healdsburg Festival with at least two instruments. If you attend, please drop by my table and say "Hi"! I would love to meet all of you who are only names, avatars and postings on the OLF.

There are, and will continue to be, changes in building/finishing techniques as I seek to make the shop environment more user friendly and healthy.

Thanks for all the prayers, positive comments and support from my fellow luthiers over the past year+...it has helped me, immeasurably, to deal with the absence from the craft I love.

Welcome back, Hank! Take it easy and watch out for saddle sores! I've been wearing my yellow Mauel Guitar Tee shirt proudly ...now I can tell those who are interested where to go!

Hank, great news! Take care and don't let those environmental issues nip at you again.
JJ, I envy you. I'd love to have one of Hank's t-shirts but at $3500, who can afford one? Granted, a guitar comes with one but still...

Hi Hank,
Welcome back brother. Happy to hear you are well again.
I too have been very sick and in and out of the hospital, but not quite fully 100% yet.

Now get in the shop and build some of those beautiful guitars you know how to make so well.

Best of luck!

walter
