One of my double strung tenors was played on the local TV program - www.cecil.tv
It starts at about 15 minutes into the program aired May 8 (after the smoked meat segment).

A little local recognition is always nice.

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.

On a side note, I just built myself a tenor, finished last month, and I absolutely love it. I can't believe I've gone this long without having a tenor guitar. I guess now I need a double course one

I built that instrument several years ago and have built a few more since. They have all turned out pretty decent. The body shape is that of an LG 3/4 size but made deeper. Scale length is around 22 inches. Dave sent me the link and it was kind of him to mention me on the broadcast (podcast?).
Another guitar I've been happy with is an eight string size 1 where the D and G are double strung courses (an octave apart).
