As I was slotting the bridge on my latest build I managed to dent the top with my wedding ring.
The dents (2) are about out .100 long .030 wide maybe .004 deep. finish is tru-oil, wood is sinker redwood.
How should I go about repairing it?

Has the TruOil been wet sanded? If it has been wet sanded, there's a good chance you'll get witness lines.
If not, I'd lightly sand the area with 400 or 600 grit dry and apply two or three coats TruOi to the damaged areal. Warm the oil up to about 120°F, holding the bottle under hot running water works.

Unfortunately yes it has been sanded to 600.

I would try steaming them out. I've done it plenty with nitro but no experience with true oil

I agree with Glen - steam.
I use a wet rag and a wood burning iron or soldering iron for a small ding like that. If it "whitens" the finish a light sanding and reapplication of truoil usually covers it.

Thanks for the advice Glen. Used a pencil type soldering iron and wet cloth. dents came out the finish did take on the pattern of the old t shirt material. Just cleaned it up with 400 grit then some tru-oil. May take a little more finish before I buff it out.
