I am trying something new here at the OLF to celebrate our community and the Holidays.

To me it matters not what you celebrate during this time of the year.
We are a global community, so understand that this is all inclusive for all our community!

For the next 12 days I will be giving away a random gift to a random winner.

For today's gift all you have to do is comment IN THIS THREAD
Any topic, any thought, any thing. Whats on your mind today?

AND if you have a facebook and Twitter account, PLEASE share this thread.
Twitter button is found above your profile pic, the Facebook SHARE is found at the bottom of your post. If you don't, that's fine. I am just trying hard to spread the word and some good cheer.

The winner will be drawn randomly, all gifts will be shipped out AFTER the holidays.

Today's gift is a COCOBOLO Bridge Blank!

Don't be shy! Speak up!

Just had to sand off half of a burst. One tiny speck of something unwanted. Round 2 coming up.

And a Very Merry Christmas to all!

I'm trying to figure out how to get my feet off of the coffee table, and moving they're way back to the shop. [uncle]

Thinking of redoing my outside mold to one similar like the one in Jonathan Kinkead's book, the semi hollow one with the block spacers to help with gluing on the plates. Also, getting excited about starting up number three!

Merry Christmas to all!

I'm with Alex, though I did manage to clean up one bench (sort of) and solder in one wire in the Princeton Reverb clone I am building.

In my case, I think it is project paralysis - where you have so many started that you can't focus on any one. I made a list of all the incomplete projects and made a promise not to start any more until I've chunked through those first. That promise was broken in about 5 minutes... oops_sign

I found an unbelievable deal on an upgraded bandsaw for my little shop. Got all the redwood paste and rust off it, made a couple of adjustments, and slid it into the vacated slot. A fence and miter slide, and a strong 1 1/2 hp motor. Cuts like buttah. Who-Hoo!

For Christmas I am going to get my ukulele playable - you can't be in a bad mood when you play a uke! I think the only thing it needs are tuners and strings.

I'm almost done with my ukulele project and hope to make another tenor using granadillo kit from Hibdon Hardwood. They now offer 95% of what you need to complete an instrument. Granadillo b&s, mahogany top and neck, granadillo fretboard , bridge blank, and face plate. Sweet deal.

I've built several guitars, but never had any lessons on how to play one until last week. Figure after another five lessons I'll have it mastered--or at least tuning by then.

Had my dinner, and went down to the shop.

I looked at the 66 boards that need 1/16" planed of of them, and turned off the lights.

Tomorrow is another day! [:Y:]

Trying to figure out how I got sick the week before heading into two weeks off work and two weeks minus one day of shop time! I never get sick. Well, mostly.

I keep staring at a guitar body I built back in 2011 before the kids were born... The neck is mostly carved. I have the trussrod, fretboard, and tuners. But yet there it sits.

And even though that Cocobolo matches nothing on the guitar... Nothing else really does either.... It sure would be flashy.

Have a very merry Christmas.

Just bought the plans for a 0-28VS from Georgia Luthier Supplies. I bought the mold 5 years ago. I really must slow down.
