Burkett #22 was recently acquired from the previous owner by MWHQ. I custom built it in 2005, and it turned out very well. I know Charles, but have no financial interest in the listing. Just a proud papa showing pictures :D

Very nice. Did you have aj35 model or plan to copy or is it you're own bracing?

Thank for all the nice comments, everyone.

Mike,
I have owned several J-35's and early 40's J-45's over the years and have owned a few dis-assembled ones. I have owned 1 dis-assembled Advanced Jumbo. All of my Slope D's are based on details, bracing patterns, and notes taken from these guitars. I have one J-35 top on hand, with most of the bracing intact. It was sanded way too thin by a previous owner to use on a guitar.

Why do they do that?! I am just finishing up a late 40's J-45 and had to re-top it for that reason. The old tops and braces do make for great patterns though.

Very nice, James! It looks like it sounds like an old Gibson.
Which is a good thing!
Hope that makes sense...

Steve

Indeed. The report of my death was exaggerated.
Dang.
I thought you knew that...

Thanks, Steve. That makes perfect sense to an old Gibson lover like me.

I'm glad it brought you out of hiding.

I don't understand it, but I see it way too often. Someone tried to sand out the bulge behind the bridge, and got it paper thin. Right, they make good patterns.
