Hey everyone!

I have just run out of my stock of Ebony veneer and was looking to see if anyone has any to sell or knows of a good source for this.

It is for use with my arm rest bevel so it needs to be somewhat wide and stable. I see plenty of Macassar streaky Ebony veneer for sale but not much in the way of black Ebony.

Thanks for the help!

Joel.

FWIW. Of the 3 or 4 black ones I have done I used dyed black veneer. I can see no downside. It's easy to get, stable and looks every bit like the ABW I use for bindings. Let me know if you need some.

I would check with with Joe here: http://www.veneersupplies.com/. Tell him what you are looking for. If he doesn't have it he might be able to get it or send you in the right direction.

Not trying to change your mind or anything, but I like macassar ebony for bindings, headplates and arm rest. I like the real wood look of it, but I do go for the darker macassar.

Hey Joel, Try certainly wood. Probably one of the best veneer suppliers around.
Why not try wenge, easy to find, cheap, nice and black, maybe a bit of extra pore filling required?

I have never purchased from Bohkle veneer in the US but they have an amazing selection including ebony.

Hey Everyone

Many thanks for the replies! I will do some hunting at those sources and see what I can come up with.

Just a heads up I love working with wenge and use it on many guitars for binding. I believe it to be the perfect mix between real wood appearance and a clean visual. I just need an Ebony veneer match for some future builds with Ebony binding speced.

Here's Wenge and Brazilian version pre finish

And here's a quick example of Ebony

Thanks again for the help! Much appreciated.
