The pics in the article where taken in 2014, of the still used at the time, The lean-to shop of over 15 yrs. Just a roof and a back wall. It Kept most of the rain and snow out. There was only about 1000 sq ft total. The 90% RH of our maritime rain-forest air, combined with temps of 40 degrees or less, 9 months of the year, made it very uncomfortably cold. That made It just better than being out in the 10 feet of annual rain.
Thank you everyone that has trusted us to deliver some of the finest soundboard products available to the world. By allowing us to help you, you have helped us.Together, starting with our salvage acquisitions and custom processing, then your artistic craftsmanship, we can continue to bring the highest quality musical instruments to the world without contributing to the destruction of our last remaining "old growth" temperate rain-forest in The United States of America, which is also largest remaining temperate rain-forest in the world.

Also make sure you don't miss out on the freebie guitar top set Lance has posted.
I'm not able to tell you what tree or log, or type of salvage the top is from. I can tell you it's an absolute dandy Tonally. You can see there is no grainslope, And the medularies that jump out at a, tell you it's as stiff as glass. Whoever wins the drawing, can know that the "V" with lumber crayon mark on the edgegrain that is blue, indicates water salavge[Float Log or bulk head]. And green color indicates land salvage[Bridge stringer, blowdown or dead standing]

I plan to make a video tour to share with you folks "one of these days".

Congratulations Brent.
A couple of years ago my son and I harvested a chunk of Engelmann from the woods around my area on a lark. I couldn't believe the effort required to get from a log in the woods to soundboards!
I have intense respect for your efforts.
Thanks for giving a dam about our little blue ball too.
I can't quite wrap my head around the chainsaw bars in the picture. They look like they would double as surfboards!
That photo of you on your site, resting in the cut of that standing tree gives me the willies!
