I have a freind who wants me to build him a flattop.

He has access to walnuts and othe woods as well as the ability to have them brought to spec.

My question:

What dimensions should I have him rip for me? Tops. Back and side sets. Thickness, width etc.
also...how long before I'm able to work the pieces in conjunction with moisture content and such.
What should I be thinking about here?
Thanks y'all

Hey, fellow central New Yorker ! For top and back it's nice to have 8.5" by 22" by 1/8" minimum. A little thicker makes joining easier if you have access to a sander for thinning after joining. Sides depend on the size of guitar, but 5" by 34" by 1/10" will get you started.

Those measurements sound good. As for moisture content, I think you want in the 6-7% range.
