Lots of folks here are familiar with Grit Laskin, a Canadian luthier and inlay artist. I did a search on OLF and came up with 189 hits referencing him and/or his work.

Grit has been working on a book to be published in October for the last 3 years, and is now selling copies to be delivered this Fall. He's crowdfunding on Indiegogo as a way of raising funds to cover publishing costs. Packages with a book start at US$50, btw.

I have no connection to Grit and am unfamiliar with the details of this funding model, but figured that there would be people here who would appreciate knowing about this. Information is here:

Spent some time with Grit at various Symposiums, and found him to be a terrific guy. Obviously, a man of intellect and immense talent. His inlay and engraving work are the ne plus ultra of artwork - and that's not even mentioning his wonderful guitars. Wish him much success with this book!

I've ordered mine. I've spoken to Grit about it and it sounds like it's gonna be pretty amazing.

I just ordered a signed book through the Indiegogo site. I loved his last book and I'm sure this one will be even better - it's a collection showing 50 projects from the past 13 years. The cool part is that it "shows how the sausage is made", so to speak. I can't wait until October!
