Stew-Mac sells a one way rod similar to what Martin used for a long time. Excellent rod as it can be epoxied into position adding stiffness and helping to assure no rattle. They also sell a new 2 way rod that looks interesting but I have not used it.

Thanks! Ken, I couldn't find them anywhere on their (annoying) website...Anyone know if they have bulk prices? or Blues creek?

I believe those aluminum "U" channel single action rods are made by Gotoh for Martin, Stew Mac and maybe LMII, from what I hear they may not be manufacturing any version of them much longer. I recently purchased all the inventory that was left at the Martin factory. Many of our CNC neck machining fixtures use the truss rod slot for location. As much as I like the "U" channel design I fear it is going into the history books soon -- I am currently redesigning fixtures around the Martin double action rod design.

Thanks Ken, but it was the 2-way rod I am trying to find on the martin site. Do you know if they offer bulk discounts?

I support Bluescreek. John sells them and they are wonderful. So is he.

If you want to buy from Martin, call & ask for the Guitar Maker's Connection.

Then be sure to specify 2-way and long or short scale.

They usually take a day or 2 to get them out the door & they only ship by UPS which can be expensive (or at least that's how it used to be).

You can probably get faster service out of John and he may offer other shipping options.

The 2 way rod does not have 2 lengths for scale length you specify 12 or 14 fret , that is all you need.
1-800-247-6931
ask for GMC or Gail

Well, just ordered enough of them from Martin to keep me going for a while! Gail is as nice as can be. I would not hesitate to order from John as well, as he has always done me right.

They don't have a volume discount, but if you join the Martin owners club for $45 a year you get 20% off. Shipping is high though.

If anyone in the area wants to try one, let me know!
